List and brief description of initiatives undertaken pursuant to paragraph (c)(2) of this section during the preceding year:
WACA partnered with the Maryland Multicultural Youth Center Silver Spring Summer Internship Program to provide internships for three high school-age students, two of whom had dropped out of high school and were participating in the LAYC-Latin American Youth Center GED program.
WACA staff spent approximately 3 hours a day with each student, five days a week, to prepare them for the field of broadcast communications, which included journalism experience, short on-air appearances, production, board operation, creative writing, public affairs, and clerical work.
